blog break

While this little blog seemed to go on a break, I was busy doing this.

Everything seemed to get busy all at once. But now it's better. Much better.
GloZell would agree.

big girl bed

We finally switched Bea's bed out for a big girl bed. Wow is it huge. I feel like it is princess and the pea and now suddenly the entire house has shrunk. Then whole time we were taking apart Bea's toddler bed and assembling the big bed, Cordelia was shaking with excitement. Bea was nowhere to be found. but Cordelia was all up in our business (it was not a safe set up with the teetering parts) shouting "wow Bea WOW!" She was over-the-moon happy for Bea. But then when bedtime came, Cordelia was crushed. No big girl bed for her. My stomach hurts even thinking about how let down she was. But all is good now. She gets "The Big Cuddler" instead. One of those long sack deals filled with rice and lavender that you pop in the microwave. Somehow that seems even in Coco's eyes.

happy valentine's day

Last year I made valentines for the girls classmates. But this year Bea insisted on Princesses for the girls and Superman (or maybe it was that new Spiderman) for the boys. Never again. Those cheap squares with their cheap slots for the flimsy tattoos and rulers. We hole punched them and tied treats to them with ribbon. I got a class list from school and went through every student and asked Bea what she liked about them. Then I wrote that on the valentine. There was one kid that Bea said cried all the time. When I asked what he did that she LIKED, she said when he doesn cry. Ha! I had to really pull some teeth to get an appropriate response. Then there was a friend that she likes it when they eat. When they EAT. Mom, I like it when she eats.

Cordelia's friends got the same deal, except none of that personalization.

The girls ready for school and their party.

my little voyeur

This is how I have been finding Cordelia.

She pulls the chair over and find the binocs.

Then when she sees me watching her she gets such a kick out of herself.

sisters

Deciding what to do when it's too cold outside.

woah ho snow

How convenient it is that the back yard turns into a steep sledding hill after some snow blowing. A neighbor and I worked hard sculpting and shaping this mound so that it would gently steer away from the base of the building and support pilings. Bea still didn't trust us and chose the infant sled over two other far superior sleds.

Cordelia always appreciates a wipe out.

i've got a dog
