art in the park

Mid June means that Art in the Park is back at school! This is Bea and Cordelia's first time.
Miss Mayra and the "other Leo". We are always asking Bea to clarify between cousin Leo and School Leo. She loves them both and talks about them often.
Gasp! Miss Flora is comforting sweet Coco Rose.

This is Cordelia's buddy Will and one of her teachers Miss Jenn.

happy father's day!

"DAAAAAD!!! I have a mustache!!!"

Father's Day was perfect weather and we took full advantage of it. A little bike ride and a little lunch at The Dock. The service was painfully slow, but it helped to have a great view of the lake and two little gals who had lots of love to give. What a happy Father's Day! PS Scott requested to not be photographed. Sigh.

Father's Day BBQ

The Bleskins had us all over on Saturday for a Father's Day BBQ. It was heaven for the kids. Us adults had a pretty good time too.

bunny foufou has babies!!!

Baby bunny FouFou has been hunkering down in the front yard.

Ironically enough, Bea was already snacking on a WHOLE UNPEELED carrot. 100% for real.

Cordelia was having a hard time leaving the sidewalk and was screaming for him to hop over. They took turns tossing bits of carrots and eating others. If you look closely, you can see the poor bunny hiding from Cordelia.

blustery memorial day

We went down to Buckingham Fountain and Millennium Park over Memorial Day weekend. At least I think that is when we went. Bea loved the fountain and Cordelia loved the pebbles. Damn those pebbles! We then strolled on over to the Crown Fountain, which was a screaming success. I thought we would just pass on by and say ooo ahhh. But those girls, they knew what it was. They knew what was up and not to miss it. Before I knew it they were running and splashing and then we were all wet. Even though the weather was chilly, we had a grand old fun family time.

Spring Talent Show

The Spring Talent Show was a few weeks ago. We talked about it for weeks, making sure Bea had a full understanding of what it was. She said YES...I want to do it. So we signed up and then talked about it some more. The plan was for both Bea and Cordelia to go up. Bea would sing and Cordelia would bop along. The entire time leading up to it, Bea said she wanted to sing Humpty Dumpty, London Bridges and Single Ladies.
We got there early.
Bea spotted us and was massively confused and then delighted

Mr. G!!!! For months we heard about this guy. How terrified Bea was at first. Then how everyone that had something remotely guitar-like, was JUST like Mr. G.

Then it was their turn. Totally awkward silence and Bea declaring she wanted to sing Twinkle Twinkle. Then some more awkward silence. Then blaring single ladies and some Cordelia bounces. The video is far too quiet. Maybe one of my fingers was over the mic.
