end of a summery sunday

Cordelia marched on up to the water slide at the splash park, waiting her turn after the big kids.

There were 2 or 3 brothers that were terrorizing the park with their water guns. Determined and stoic.

Poor Coco in "her berries" after getting hit.

Table for two.

Tee hee hee.

I love this picture. Cordelia trying to sniff and kiss Bea. And Bea looking so much like my Grandma June and my Aunt Joanne.

pride parade

Wha-what. Bea gettin' her dance on. We stroll up and down the staging for the parade. You get all the music and diversity without all the crowds and chaos. Bea left the house with two more dresses on top of this. She looked like a bag lady and toned it down. The neighbors have her the beads before we left.

How perfect that they had a fun house mirror!! The girls have really been getting a kick out of their reflections on the side of the car and in other curved or tilted reflective surfaces. So this got lots of low laughs from the two of them.

oh my gosh mom! pink! candeeeeeeeee!

They bopped along to each floats music and touched each one.

So excited to see POLLY the trolly.

Everyone was talking pictures in front of this gem.

Hard to tell but this was the Google set up. They had a really nice bar set up against the cemetery. It was really enticing.

The Field museum and their dino skull. It even had a teeny tiara on it.

This one needed some straightening.

Gorgeous gorgeous. I couldn't even capture it.

A little rest before heading home. So much fun.

treasure jars

There is something about old glass (don't tell the park district about the glass part) jars that Bea and Cordelia just love. I'll save a bag of them and then we'll go to the beach and take a couple of the treasure jars.

Sometimes it's just sand and water that makes it in the jars.

Sometimes some moldy dandelions and mud. This time is was just jammed with sand.

friday fun

I took Friday off for some summer fun with my girls. We went to the park and then to the pool in the burbs with their cousins. Then out for hot dogs. Then to see Esme hustle at her game and THEN to Bleskins for some post-game popsicles. The girls had so much fun that they were cross-eyes at one point. Bea even ran around the crowded pool deck in her birthday suit. She still doesn't see the problem.

I love seeing how much fun they have together.

Surprised at how delicious the popsicles where? Or maybe I said "say popsicle" and snapped the pic at an awkward moment.

strange ladies

Lately the girls have been really interesting. As you know, Bea is fancy all the time. Asking me to take a picture of her with this birdhouse. She was really serious about it.

Cordelia has been the resident comedian and button pusher.

Feeding the birds with bits of bread, that they ended up eating themselves.

Hanging out on the roof and Ms. Fancy has to bring up her beauty kit. Yes, that is the pink think you see on her left arm.

Ready to tear it up.

the hunting of the snark

A few Fridays ago, we took the girls to see some poetry in motion after dinner. It was based on some "nonsense poetry" called The Hunting of The Snark. It was interesting and had some entertaining moments. Thankfully it was free.
