nurse b and patient c

Scott tore a hammy at the park. So naturally, Cordelia is also suffering. She kept saying "park hurt me" and was grabbing her elbow and/or bicep. Scott is fine and it was my fault for CHEATING in a friendly race. Anyways, Bea asked for an ice bag for Coco and got her all comfy on the couch. She held the ice pack on her arm and gave her reassuring pats. Cordelia really relished being the patient. And now that Scott is feeling better, low and behold, so is Cordelia. It's a miracle!

spring art show 2014

This Spring's theme was Mary Poppins! The kids read the book, watched the movie and learned the songs. I know there would be some sort of chimney sweep photo when Bea came home with some SOOT on her face. Every year they keep the photos and art under tight wraps until the night of the show.

Kite strings and tails.

The older girls were asked to wear long skirts and white tops. I was told there would be lots of "skirt swishing". Bea did not disappoint. This was to Sister Suffragette. It's hard to tell, but they had purple sashes on with "Votes for women".

The older boys danced and swept to Chim Chim Cher-ee

Then all the kids  - except the itty bitty ones, sang and danced to Let's go Fly a Kite. Did I mention that Cordelia loves being on stage?

Super neat umbrella wall installation. Maybe they'll let us take home all of them?

I am not sure what they say to get such serious faces. No smiling or else ?

Scrump

This is Bea's friend Alex.  At first she wanted nothing to do with him. And now? She wants him to sleep over.

Cordelia was noshing and mingling.

Bea and her other buddy Ava.

I need to get some overall better pictures, but MAN look at Cordelia's face! She looks like a cartoon. The girls were so proud of all of their art. One thing I didn't get a picture of was Bea's little watering can. She talked about it for weeks. It's the tiniest little ceramic watering can painted a rainbow of colors. She loves it. They also has a carousel horse for family pictures. So that is still to come.

finally

It wasn't that it was finally warm enough to go to the park, but more that it was finally not hazardous. It was still pretty damn cold, but at least it was dry.

st. patrick's day

Our usual spot for photos - the yellow wall. Line up ladies!

This picture says it all! Gosh I love these two!

Bea and Coco were all set for school with lots of green gear, and their snack bags, and their stuffed animals. Can you believe that I had shamrock nylons for these two, right behind me, RIGHT BEHIND ME. And somehow they ended up in those plain white tights. Oh and we had corned beef two nights in a row and they loved it. Bea shuddered when she took her first bite, followed up with WHAT IS THIS...i love it.

st. patrick's sunday

The Sunday before St. Patricks we threw around a couple ideas on how to celebrate the high holiday. We landed on going to Chief O'Neills. The girls got all spiffed up and off we went. I can't believe little Coco Rose kept all of this on.

The Irish dancers invited kids (and willing adults) to come on up and try their hand at the Irish Jig. Both ladies were up there in no time. Bea was all bashful, but Cordelia was all in. It was like she flipped a switch and just kept bouncing until she was asked to leave and the music stopped.

Such a great place, I can't believe we had never been there.  Not too crowded or rowdy.
