the day after

The morning after her party, Cordelia only wanted to sit in the rocker. Bea's rocker
Fun new tunnel! Cordelia's new tunnel.

Bea wearing a pink bow. A pink bow from Cordelia's present.
Cordelia took her sweet time, snacking between small wrapping paper pulls.

Bea tried to butter her up with some love, hoping to speed up the present opening.

Patience is getting lost and Cordelia is onto Bea.

I've come for the presents.

cordelia's party

I only was able to take some pictures BEFORE actual guests showed up.  Cordelia had a bit of stranger anxiety but she made up for it with indulging in some cake. But not her smash cake. Scott smashed that. Instead she got to have the big kid cake and man was it good.

I still can't believe how fast Cordelia's first year has gone! She is such a sweet, loving and sly girl.

things bea says

At school
Bea's teachers gave chocolate covered raisins for one of their snacks. Bea ate them up and wanted more. So they offered her a fortune cookie. She put up a stink and finally let them place a fortune cookie in front of her. Then she said in a deep low voice - "I'm gonna choke on this."

On the drive home
I rolled down Bea's window and told her to take a good long sniff of the lake. After dramatic sniffing noises I asked what it she thought. Her response: "It smelled like FOOD, like MEAT, like MEATBALLS, wouldn't that be good?"

In the alley
Bea what does a pigeon say?
"It says oh for pete's sake! That what it says, yup. That's what it says when it's eatin' a hot dog"

we're going places!

Cordelia got a bike trailer for her bday and boy was it a hit!

Miss long legs was all wobbles and anxiety on the swing. Why?

Swinging is so fun, free and breezy!

the ride home

Together, we can get through this.

scream singing

Bea treated all of our neighbors to her scream/sing version of 3, 4, 5, fish alive. I thought she was going to pop a blood vessel.

sneaky coco

Within 3 minutes of me walking in the door from Bea's dentist appointment, Cordelia tip-toed off to her table. I didn't pay attention at first but then I heard a crunching noise. She has climbed into the chair and was eating an apple of Bea's from the day (or two) before!

When I brought it to Scott's attention she looked over at him with a super cute but super guilty face.

Then unsure if she was doing something she shouldn't have been, she flashed her cute little smile. CUUUUTE!

bea's first dentist appointmet

Last month Bea had her very first and very much needed dentist appointment. We talked about it for weeks leading up to the event. Explaining every detail. What I thought was plaque was actually staining! Usually they give a little scrub and keep the visit short and sweet. But since Bea was so cooperative, they went to town on those little bad boys and even used the scraper! Her reward was two toothbrushes and three toys from the treasure chest.
