things bea says

Dinnertime Toots
She was tooting at the dinner table and said her bum was steaming! I said wow steaming?! She said "yes. Steaming. Cuz there's poop coming out. Look. Look. Look at my diaper. See the steam. See the poop? "
Porta-potties
First Bea thought porta-potties were where you stored your milk, as in a refrigerator. I said definitely not. Then she thought it was where she needed to hold Daddy. So he can go poop. Because you know - he is too big. So she has to hold him. Then this week she came to the conclusion that it was "for workers, so we can pay them to poop. yes. that's what we do"
The Ride Home
There was a Cubs night game and I new the ride home from daycare was going to be long. The only distraction I had was a whole Honeycrisp apple. So I gave it to Bea, thinking she might just nibble it the whole way home, and not go crazy. Usually she has apple slice or chunks, never a whole apple. 10 minutes into the ride I look back and not only is she taking large bites and talking about how juicy it is. But she has eaten well into the core, with no intent to stop. And the entire time she is munching, she is also apologizing to Cordelia. "I'm sorry Cordelia, you cannot have any. nope. I am soo sorry." Then once Bea was done with her apple and Cordelia had fallen asleep, she softly says "I'll love you forever Cordelia".

we have some steps!

Cordelia has been a total wiggle worm. Not wanting to be held. Just wanting to stand and cruise. Well today she took some steps at daycare! They told me as soon as I walked through the door. And sure enough, I got to see it! Our little baby is growing up so fast!!

easter

Bea began her treatster - or Easter - by spotting her first egg.

Cordelia's basket was perched in her jumpy.

Coco was still so sleepy and cuddly. And definitely interested in what the Easter Bunny brought.

We went down to Scott's parents where the Easter Bunny had been very very busy.

EB knocked on the window motioning for someone to let him in.

Sweet Cordelia Rose. Not too long after this, she tore up a threshold and part of a baseboard. All in complete silence.

Cordelia had major stranger anxiety for everyone but the Easter Bunny.

Then it was out to the yard to find those magical eggs.

Bea was lucky enough to use Grandpa Ed's silver spoon from when he was a wee little one.

Cordelia and Bea were the first ones at the table, ready to eat meat.

coloring eggs

Never again, these egg dye cups were for the birds.

pleased

Bea was pleased as punch to be able to hang at the park.

warmish weather

The warmish weather brought out the puppet mobile and balloons. We even sat on the grass. No wet spots, just surprisingly comfortable!

bea's very first haircut

At almost two and a half years, this was Bea's very first haircut. I had no idea how she would react, so I prepared for tears, screams and maybe a slice or two on the stylist's arm. It was delightful. She proclaimed that she wanted to ride in the Barbie car right away.

This is the "before" picture. To our surprise, the Easter Bunny was there. Bea was obsessed. Waving and blowing kisses. If you look in the background mirror, you can catch a glimpse. He was either trying to steal a moment of peace or checking his twitter.
Here is the "after" picture.
Bea really really enjoyed herself, so she was a bit confused when a fellow tot was losing his mind. I was checking out at the front desk, so she went back there to investigate.
