german-american fest
This past Saturday we met some friends at German-American fest. Lincoln Square really knows how to celebrate. We brought Bea's floral crown from Maifest and lots and lots of food for the lady. The costumes, music and performances were really authentic. And so was the food and beer. It was hard to say if Bea wanted the beer or the band more.

a festival of fests
Our fest going continued this weekend with the Chicago Folk & Roots Festival. This was a new one for us. The Old Town School of Folk Music puts it on and features the "best in live roots & world music." It was so nice to have a spot to set up and relax. Bea snacked and had dinner, danced and tried to grab Scott's beverage. Lots of little kids came up to Bea. One little guy tickled her feet and wanted to share his Italian ice. Another little guy just came up and stared until his Mom broke the silence with an observation of Bea's size. I only took a couple pictures of the scene, and in both of them there is a man on a mission. Can you spot him?
